Agility Training

Agility is a canine sport which develops good leadership skills with your dog as well as engaging them in fun exercises which stimulates their brain. In agility your dog will learn how to read your body language and tackle a variety of obstacles such as tunnels, jumps, weaving sticks and A frames etc.
Through agility you are able to work towards achieving titles through attending sanctioned trial days. Competing begins when a dog is 18 months or older. The titles are:

• Novice Agility (3 passes to gain title)
• Novice Jumping (3 passes to gain title)
• Excellent Agility (5 passes to gain title)
• Excellent Jumping (5 passes to gain title)
• Masters Agility (7 passes to gain title)
• Masters Jumping (7 passes to gain title)
• Open Agility (5 passes to gain title)
• Open Jumping (5 passes to gain title)

Although to some the thought of competing may be a little bit daunting, you are by no means expected to participate in these. You are more than welcome to come to the class to provide you and your dog with mental and physical exercise.
Training works in increments of 8-10 weeks which starts at the beginning of each school term. If you are a new beginner this is when you may join agility training on a Monday.

Agility training is for dogs who have reached the age of 12 months.

Training time: Monday: 7.00 – 8.00pm (Please arrive at least 15 – 20 minutes early to set up)
What to bring: Treats, Lead, Toy, Water and Dog Bowl.
