About the Club
December 19th, 2008Welcome to the Rockingham Dog Club Inc.
Our aim:
Our club is an all breeds club, dedicated to the education and training of owners and their dogs. We aim to provide a friendly and supportive learning environment in which participants can learn at a pace that is right for them. We are a club that promotes positive reinforcement methods as this allows us to work in harmony with our dogs to achieve the best possible results.
What we offer:
Obedience:
Obedience classes cater from puppies and beginners to advanced levels.
Training times are:
Summer – Wednesday nights from 7.00pm.
Winter – Sunday Mornings from 9.00am.
We are currently on winter training times until October.
You can join at any time. All you need to do is arrive at the club 15 minutes early with your membership fee and your dog’s current vaccination certificate. At this initial orientation session please do not bring your dog, just yourself. You will be allocated to an appropriate class with your best friend for the following week.
Puppy Preschool:
Puppy preschool is run for those with puppies under three months old who are not yet fully vaccinated. Classes are held at the clubrooms on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm and run for six weeks. You and your pup will have lots of fun socialising as well as learning basic commands. When you have graduated from puppy preschool your fees include a year of obedience training with the club at no extra cost. This will allow you to perfect those skills and allow for further socialisation in a safe and controlled environment.
Agility
For those who are more energetic we offer the exciting sport of Agility on Monday nights starting at 7.00pm – please arrive earlier to help set up equipment. Dogs must be at least one year old to participate. Agility is included in annual club fees at no extra cost. Your dog will have the opportunity to run through tunnels, jump through hoops and climb the A-frame.
Our fees:
Obedience and Agility – $50 – covers all obedience and agility classes.
Puppy Preschool - $90 – includes 6 weeks puppy preschool plus obedience for the remainder of the year at no extra cost.
Our fees are amongst the lowest in Perth and cover 12 months membership. Concessions (20%) are available for those with health care cards, pensioners etc.
Where are we?
Our clubrooms are located on Bungaree oval which is accessed off Crater place in Rockingham. We are ten minute walk from Rockingham City Shopping Centre.
